Why mess around with congestion and possibly damage car? |
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series had an 85-minute practice session scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway, but only five of the 49 drivers felt the need to take a few laps. Everyone pretty much knows what they've got and nothing can be gained by running a few more laps. However, plenty of bad things can happen which is why the five cars that went out all made single cars runs with no drafting. The objective: play it safe and get the car to the Budweiser Duels qualifying races tonight in one piece.
Daytona Practice No. 5 #42-Larson 192.699, 18 laps
#35-Whitt 190.710, 7 laps
#46-Annett 190.098, 6 laps
#23-Yeley 189.478, 6 laps
#26-Burton 187.964, 2 laps
