ADVANCE NOTES

Biffle at California

Biffle has 20 Sprint Cup Series starts at Fontana, earning one win, four top-five and seven top-10 finishes, while also leading 297 laps total. He has an average starting position of 13.9 and finishing position of 17.8 at the track.

Biffle has two top-six finishes in his last three starts at Fontana.

In addition to his Sprint Cup victory at Fontana, he also has three XFINITY wins.

Leading at California
Biffle has led a combined total of 688 laps in NASCAR action at the 2.0-mile track in the Sprint Cup, XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series.

Last Time California
Greg Biffle worked his way from his 24th-place qualifying effort all the way into the top 10 before a blown left rear sent him to pit road under green at California. While trying to get back on the lead lap the No. 16 Ford got debris on the grille, causing the engine to overheat, forcing the team to pit multiple times to add water to the engine as the laps dwindled down.

In the Points
Biffle is currently 16th in the point standings, 12 points out of 10th.

Clean Harbors
Clean Harbors has their first primary paint scheme on the No. 16 this weekend in Fontana and is celebrating their 35th anniversary as North America’s leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services. Clean Harbors provides safe, environmentally responsible solutions that help customers prevent the release of hazardous material into the environment and, in situations where that has already occurred, help recover and decontaminate any pollutants that have been released.

Did you know?
Clean Harbors is the largest provider of emergency services in North America. They help businesses and communities recover from devastations such as hurricanes, oil spills or even events such as 9/11. They will respond to as many as 6,000 emergencies in a year.

Biffle on Phoenix:
“I’m really excited about California. It’s one of my favorite places to race and we seem to run really well there. The track is bumpy but a lot of fun to race on. We’ve got Clean Harbors on the car celebrating their 35th anniversary, so hopefully we can get a good finish for them.”

Puccia on California:
“California has been a good track for us. We’ve had a lot of good runs there in the past. We learned a few things at Vegas that will help us this weekend at California. We’ve got some new aero and engineering things that we hope to apply this weekend. The plan is to get a solid run and get us back up there in points.”
