KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Kasey Kahne has won the pole at Kansas Speedway, beating teammate Paul Menard as Richard Petty Motorsports swept the front row for Sunday's race.
Kahne turned a lap at 174.644 mph in his Ford during Friday's qualifying session. Menard's lap was 174.469.
Jeff Gordon qualified third at 174.430 in a Chevrolet. He is the highest qualifying driver in the Chase field.
Joey Logano was fourth in a Toyota, followed by Greg Biffle in a Ford, Ryan Newman in a Chevrolet and Juan Montoya in a Chevrolet.
Matt Kenseth qualified eighth in a Ford, Kurt Busch was the highest-qualifying Dodge at ninth andDavid Ragan rounded out the top 10 in a Ford.
Non-Chase drivers took six of the top 10 spots.
