This weeks race on the concrete Monster Mile of Dover International Speedway should produce a new type of winner this week from what we have seen the last six weeks. The favorites to win according to the Las Vegas Hilton Super Book in Las Vegas are Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Kyle Busch at 6 to 1.
To get the best read on what to look for this Sunday, the week five Bristol race lends some support just because of the similarities between the two tracks since Bristol made changes to the track in 2007. Though they are a half-mile difference in distance, the concrete surface and multiple grooves make them pretty similar and the teams that had success then will likely do the same this week.
Jimmie Johnson won for the first time ever at Bristol this year and he swept the Dover season last year making him a strong choice this week, despite speculation from the pundits that perhaps the new spoiler has made the team weakened.
Tony Stewart at 25 to 1 is a nice driver to look at this week despite not finishing in the top-15 in his last six starts on the season. Stewart finished second in this race last season and he had his best run at Bristol this year with a second-place finish.
Greg Biffle is the NASCAR loop data leader at Dover since they began compiling the loads of data for each race five years ago. He’s a two time winner on the track and finished fourth at Bristol this year. Biffle is an 18 to 1 choice at the Hilton.
