From the Cockpit:
Carl Edwards: “Alright, Dover is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit. It gives the highest sensations of speed. I learned today that Dover is Dave Rogers’ favorite racetrack. We head there looking for a win and it would be a huge win because of what STANLEY and the Ace Hardware Foundation have put on the line. If we win the race they’re going to donate a million dollars to the Children’s Miracle Network and the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. So is this a huge opportunity for us to do something really cool for a lot of people with STANLEY and the Ace Hardware Foundation. We’ve been running well. We’ve had fast cars. We had a long tough night at Kansas but we didn’t quit. We fought the entire race and we dug for everything we had and we came home with a respectable finish. We’ll take that and the win by Kyle Busch and say that it was a good night overall for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). I really think the way all of our JGR Toyotas have been running, and the way that Martin Truex, Jr. has been running, it’s going to be a really fun weekend. I think we’re going to have to beat our teammates to win the race. So I look forward to going to Dover. The race itself is a really tough one. You have to stay focused the entire time because of the high speeds in the corners and the difficulty of that racetrack. It’s a pretty intense four hundred laps. It’s a really fun place to win. Hopefully we can do it for our team, but more importantly do it for STANLEY and the kids.”
From the Pitbox:
Dave Rogers: “Dover is one of my favorite tracks on the circuit. This is a track that the drivers really have to attack, but the Monster Mile can bite back at any time – it makes for an exciting race. But as if that wasn’t enough, our partners at STANLEY Black and Decker upped the ante and have pledged to donate one million dollars to the Ace Foundation / Children’s Miracle Network if we put the yellow No. 19 in victory lane. I always enjoy racing at Dover, but now we’re racing for an even greater cause – this is going to be fun!”
