From the Cockpit:
Matt Kenseth: “Kansas is finally starting to change and widen out a little bit more since they repaved it, because it used to be a very fast one groove track with a lot of grip. It’s been very aero-sensitive, but to me, it seems to be gradually changing as the surface is starting to wear in. I think the biggest challenge with Kansas is that we always want the grove to move up so that you have some room to pass. You really need to have a fast car for Kansas, but it’s such a tough place to pass, so we’ll work to make sure that we have our DG Camry set up to go as fast as we can and then fight to keep that track position.”
From the Pit Box:
Jason Ratcliff: “Kansas is a place that we always look forward to, and we were fortunate enough to have won from the pole there back in 2013. Looking back to last year’s races there, I thought that we had a really great car for the second race, but we had to make a green-flag stop and got caught when a caution came out, so we didn’t get the finish we deserved. I truly feel that our intermediate track program has improved this year, so I think that Kansas is a race weekend that we circle on the calendar as having potential to be a great weekend for our DG team. I like the fact that it’s a Saturday night race this weekend as well, so I’m looking forward to Kansas this weekend.”
