No. 19 ARRIS Toyota News and Notes:

Edwards will run in his 10th All-Star race since he entered the Sprint Cup Series full-time in 2005. He won the 2011 All-Star race in dramatic form and in his excitement, he slid across the grass in the infield, wrecking his car. True to form, Edwards went ahead with his customary back-flip to celebrate.

With nine Sprint Cup Series starts in the All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Edwards has completed 742 of 850 laps (87.3 percent) and has led for a total of 59 laps. Edwards has earned one win, two poles, four top-five and four top-10 finishes there. His average start is 10.3 and his average finish is 10.4.

RACE INFO: Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (1.5-mile) begins at 9:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 16th. The race will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1, Sirius XM Channel 90 and PRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:
Carl Edwards:
“The All-Star Race makes for a really fun weekend. It’s close to home so a lot of the guys get to bring their families and their friends out to the races. It gives it a real Saturday night short-track feel. There are no points, so we get to just go out, try our hardest, and we get to go for a million bucks, which for a race car driver on a Saturday night, that’s just about as good as it gets. I’ve had a lot of fun in this race. We’ve won it once, which was obviously a blast. And last year I had a great race with Jamie McMurray on the last restart. He got me, but that was a great battle. Hopefully, we get another chance to go for it this year. We’ve not had a lot of luck lately, so this will be a great opportunity for our No. 19 team to just have some fun. The qualifying format is a blast also. It’s one of my favorite things we do during the year. We get another shot at the pole there. We’ll get to showcase our pit crew and their massive talent. Overall, this should just be a fun weekend. Hopefully we can bring home a win and get some momentum going the other direction for this team.”
