TWO-TIME LOOKING FOR THREE:
Two-time Daytona 500 Champion, Matt Kenseth returns to the 2.5-mile superspeedway as one of only 11 drivers in NASCAR history who have won this prestigious race more than once. Kenseth will look to return to victory lane at the historic track in the sport’s most esteemed race for the third time in his career. Kenseth’s two Daytona 500 wins came in 2009 and 2012; could 2015 keep his streak of winning the race every three years in tact?

JOE GIBBS RACING AT DAYTONA: Joe Gibbs Racing has 99 Sprint Cup Series starts at Daytona earning a total of four wins, 21 top-five, and 33 top-ten finishes. From the Cockpit:
Matt Kenseth:
“Daytona is a really special place and obviously where NASCAR started, so starting the season off with our biggest race of the year, it’s a big deal to be able to compete in the Daytona 500, let alone to be able to win it. Running my first Daytona 500 was one of the neatest moments of my career. Everyone wants to win a Daytona 500 and be a part of that elite group of winners. I’ve been fortunate enough to have won two of them, so if I were to be able to win it for a third time, I think that there’s no better way to start a season than by winning the Daytona 500. It’s such a tough race to win, but everyone has a shot at the title once that green flag drops on Sunday.”

From the Pit Box:
Jason Ratcliff:
“Looking ahead to the Daytona 500, the biggest thing that I’m focused on is the new qualifying format. We did the group format at Talladega last year and we learned a few things from that session. The Daytona schedule leading up to the 500 is a lot of laps to put on one race car since we have qualifying on Sunday, the Duel races on Thursday as well as all the other practice sessions. I just think that qualifying is going to be the biggest difference for us leading into the 500 than in years past. The Daytona 500 is our biggest race weekend of the year and it’s a race that you always want to come out of the gates with a strong run.”
