Earnhardt Jr. fastest in Friday's late Daytona prcatice

Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes a strong case to win Sunday's Daytona 500
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was fastest during Friday's final Sprint Cup Daytona practice session among the 25 drivers that participated. With a lap speed of 194.405 mph, Dale Jr. looks to be in great shape to win his second straight Daytona 500 and third overall.

Earnhardt’s fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates, Kasey Kahne (193.528 mph) and Jimmie Johnson (193.096) were second and third fastest repectively, and were followed by Danica Patrick (192.810) and Ryan Blaney (192.781).

Kahne's 30 laps run were the most of the session.

Rounding out the top-10 fastest drivers in the practice were Kyle Busch (192.431 MPH) who was sixth, Greg Biffle (192.369) seventh, Jamie McMurray (192.029) eighth, Carl Edwards (191.885) ninth and Austin Dillon (191.853) posting the 10th fastest lap speed.

The final (“Happy Hour”) Daytona 500 practice session is scheduled for Saturday morning from 10:00 am – 11:55 am (ET – On FOX Sports 1).
