Danica Patrick looking to be more consistent in 2015

For fans who expected Danica Patrick to be running in the top 10 or winning Sprint Cup races by now, she has a simple message or word of caution.

That was never her expectation after just two full seasons of Sprint Cup racing.

“From every single interview I have ever done about where I expected to be, I never gave any answer on where I thought that would be,” Patrick said recently. “I have said all along it’s about progress, and it still is. As long as you keep progressing you are going to get to the top over a matter of time.”

Most would argue that Patrick is showing very little progress and is highly unlikely to ever get to the top in the Sprint Cup Series, that in fact she took a step backward last season by finishing 28th in points a year after finishing 27th as a Cup rookie.

But Patrick and her team insist that’s not the case.

“There has been improvements in the areas that I wanted them, and now it’s about making those improvements much more consistent,” she said.
