Kyle Busch Wins Pole at Pocono, His Second Cup Pole of 2010

Associated Press

LONG POND, Pa. — Kyle Busch turned a lap at 169.485 mph to win the pole for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race Sunday at Pocono Raceway.

The winner of two of the last four races, Busch earned his second pole of the season. He won at Richmond last month after starting from the pole.

Clint Bowyer qualified second Friday, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. was third.

Jeff Burton qualified 13th. Busch and Burton had a run-in during last week's race at Charlotte after Busch's late error sent Burton tumbling to a 25th-place finish.

Busch finished third last week to help strengthen his hold on second place in the points standings, 29 behind leader Kevin Harvick.
