Updated Westgate odds to win 2016 Sprint Cup following Kentucky

Kevin Harvick one of four drivers at 7/1 odds to win Sprint Cup.
LAS VEGAS -- Four drivers are currently co-favorites to win the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship and their odds haven't changed much on them since numbers were posted in November. Part of the reason for good, or stale, numbers is because of the Chase format. The other part is that Las Vegas is pretty good at identify who the top contenders are supposed to be.

There will be 16 drivers participating in the 10-race Chase that begins at Chicagoland Speedway Sept. 18 and 11 of them have been identified already by virtue of an automatic qualifier from winning a race. Five more will make it either by points or winning one of the next eight races before the Chase begins. At this stage, points mean nothing for the 11 drivers qualified. Winning is still nice too, but it's not as important as preparing the teams for the Chase.

Kevin Harvick was the 5-to-1 favorite coming into the season and he currently leads the series in points, but the 2014 Sprint Cup champ has won just one race on the season. Four points behind him in second is Brad Keselowski who leads the series with four wins, including the past two on the schedule. Keselowski, who won the Sprint Cup in 2012, opened at 8-to-1 and is now down to 7-to-1. Last years champ Kyle Busch and top contender Joey Logano are still at their opening 7-to-1 odds.

As the Chase begins, we'll begin to see rapid changes in the numbers from race to race as points become a big deal and a win automatically qualifies a driver to the next round of three races.

Here's a look at all the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook numbers updated as of Monday, July 11 with opening number (if any changes) in parenthesis.
