From the Cockpit:
Matt Kenseth:
“I feel that Michigan is a lot like Kansas since they were paved around the same time. The racing surface at Michigan used to be really wide allowing us plenty of space to pass, but since the repave, it’s a lot narrower lanes so I think that qualifying is going to be really important this weekend. Track position is going to be really important this weekend and I’m hoping we can get a good qualifying session in. Michigan has been a really fast track since the repave, but I think it’s going to be even faster this weekend due to the new rules package in place this year.”

From the Pit Box:
Jason Ratcliff: “Michigan is always one of the tracks we go to that stands out as just being a fast track since the repave. I think that with the new aero package this year, it’s going to add even more speed this weekend. It’s one of those tracks where we’ll need to qualify well. I thought the first race there last year, I thought we had a shot to maybe battle for the win. I know it’s a track that Matt (Kenseth) likes, and he has a pretty good track record there, so I’m looking forward to it.”
