Brad Keselowski is 8-to-1 to win Championship |
LAS VEGAS -- Based on the LVH SuperBook’s updated NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship odds, Jimmie Johnson looks to be a runaway freight train as a huge 3-to-1 favorite. His nearest competition, based on the odds, is Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth – each at 8-to-1.
Johnson, traditionally a slow starter, has looked terrific so far this season, as he leads Keselowski by five points in the standings. The thinking with his short championship price is that the five-time champ has an advantage in the new Gen-6 car. He’s already excelled on a variety of tracks, a great recipe for a sixth championship.
However, 2012 champ – Keselowski – is the only driver to finish in the top five of all three races this season. The results at Daytona, Phoenix and Las Vegas – each vastly different tracks – give a great indication that Keselowski can be just as versatile as Johnson in 2013 and perhaps start his own legacy as one of the greats in the sport.
