Kevin Harvick favored to win 2015 AAA Texas 500

Harvick one of the best on 1.5-mile tracks this season.
LAS VEGAS -- Kevin Harvick has never won at Texas Motor Speedway in 25 career Sprint Cup starts, but that hasn’t stopped the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook from installing him as the 9-to-2 favorite to win Sunday’s AAA Texas 500. Harvick has won only three races this season, but two of them came on tracks he had never won at before (Las Vegas and Dover). Maybe Texas is next on his bucket list?

Sunday’s race will be the 10th of 11 held this season on 1.5-mile tracks; the fourth in the Chase. This is the second race of the Eliminator Round, where eight drivers have the opportunity to be one of the final four to advance to Homestead’s Championship Round on Nov. 22. Do well on the 1.5-mile tracks and a driver’s chances of winning a title are enhanced greatly. Nearly every past champion has paved his route to a championship on this type of track. This year should be no different.
