Dale Earnhardt Jr. has seen steady improvement the last two years, making the Chase for the Sprint Cup in back-to-back seasons after finishing outside the top 20 in points in 2009-10.
His fans breathed a sigh of relief last year as Earnhardt finally re-established himself among the sport’s top drivers.
But they want more, and Earnhardt does, too.
A one-win season last year — his victory at Michigan snapped a four-year winless streak — just won’t cut it in 2013.
“We’ve got to do more than that,” Earnhardt said. “We’ve got to win more than one race. We weren’t satisfied with winning just one race. If we win less than three races, that’s going to be disappointing.
