Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway
No. 19 ARRIS Toyota News and Notes:
Edwards and the No. 19 ARRIS team return to the Irish Hills of Michigan for the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Edwards made his first Sprint Cup Series start there in 2004 and finished 10th on the 2-mile speedway. He has enjoyed success there, winning two Sprint Cup Series races in 2007 and 2008 and two XFINITY races there in 2008 and 2011.
In 22 Sprint Cup Series starts at Michigan, Edwards has completed 4,245 of 4,277 laps (99.3 percent) and has led for a total of 332 laps. Edwards has earned two wins, nine top-five and 15 top-10 finishes there. His average start is 18.5 and his average finish is 9.8.
RACE INFO: Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway (2-mile) begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 16th. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.

Carl Edwards: ”We are taking our ARRIS Camry to Michigan this weekend. It’s the site of my first Sprint Cup race ever and it is a very special place to me. I have a lot of friends in that area. Mr. Thrasher whose name was on our car for the Coca-Cola 600 win has family near that track. It’s always been a real good track to me as a driver. It’s fast, wide and with this new package no one really knows what to expect. I’m excited for the possibility that this new package will get the grooves spread out in the corners and allow us to race close together. I think all of us have our fingers crossed. We also are focused on the Chase these next few races, Michigan included. It gives us a chance to practice and work on some things that will hopefully help us during the ten race stretch to determine the champion. I really am proud to have ARRIS back on our Toyota; they have been a huge part of our team this year and it would be pretty cool to put them in victory lane.”
