Martin Truex Jr. fastest in first Texas practice session

Martin Truex Jr. has top-10 finishes in all six 2015 starts
Martin Truex Jr. led all drivers in Friday’s first of two Sprint Cup practice sessions at Texas Motor Speedway.

Truex was the only driver over 191 mph, clocking a field-best speed of 191.096 mph. Kasey Kahne was second-fastest at 190.463 mph, followed by Kevin Harvick (189.773 mph).

The second and final practice session for Saturday’s Duck Commander 500 will be later today, going from 2 to 3:20 pm ET.

Also on tap for tonight: qualifying at 6:45 pm ET.
