Brett Moffitt to fill in for Vickers again in MWR No. 55 at Texas

Brett Moffitt had an 8th-place finish at Atlanta
Brett Moffitt, who has subbed for Brian Vickers in three of the season's first six races, will be back in the No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota next weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

Moffitt, 22, has competed in every race this season except the Daytona 500. His two starts outside of Michael Waltrip Racing have come in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Chevrolet of David Ragan, who continues to fill in for injured Kyle Busch in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

MWR, which confirmed Moffitt's Texas plans to FOX Sports 1 on Wednesday, hasn't named a driver for the No. 55 beyond the April 11 running of the Duck Commander 500 (7 p.m. ET, FOX).

Vickers missed the season's first two races while recovering from offseason corrective heart surgery, returned for two races and then was sidelined again prior to the Auto Club Speedway race weekend because of recurring blood clots.

Moffitt finished an impressive eighth at Atlanta in his MWR Sprint Cup debut on March 1 and has finished 22nd and 28th for MWR in races at Fontana and Martinsville the past two weekends, respectively.
