Matt Kenseth still searching for first 2014 win

No wins in 2014 for Matt Kenseth

Matt Kenseth has not had the start to 2014 that he had in 2013, but he still sits second in the Sprint Cup standings, just one point behind series leader Jeff Gordon.

Just like Gordon, Kenseth does not have a win yet this season. At this time last year, Kenseth had two wins in what was a stellar start to his tenure at Joe Gibbs Racing but he could not repeat his victories at Las Vegas or Darlington.

“Last year at this time I was pretty comfortable,” Kenseth said last week at Darlington Raceway. “We had a couple wins, we were leading a lot of laps and things were really clicking along. We had some adversity along the way and we had some things happen, but we were performing at a really, really high level, so I was pretty comfortable and having a lot of fun.

“I’m still comfortable, we’re still having fun. We want to be better and we set that bar so high last year that I think we expect that from ourselves all the time.”
