Talladega Practice Notes

Junior was 10th fastest in final practice among only 29 drivers

During the final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Camping World RV Sales 500 practice session early Friday evening, it was Jimmie Johnson, with a lap speed of 195.936 m.p.h., showing the fastest way around Talladega Superspeedway.

Josh Wise, with a lap speed of 195.892 m.p.h., was the second fastest and was followed by Denny Hamlin (195.333 m.p.h.) who was third, Kasey Kahne (195.297) fourth and Bobby Labonte (195.269) was fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest drivers in the “Happy Hour” (final) session were Juan Pablo Montoya (195.265 m.p.h.) who was sixth, Travis Kvapil (195.221) seventh, David Gilliland (194.919) eighth, Jeff Gordon (194.401) ninth and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (194.358) posting the tenth fastest lap speed. Only 29 drivers ran at least one lap.............
