Keselowski advances in Chase with dramatic Talladega win

Brad Keselowski wanted to redeem himself after a drama-filled week that included a $50,000 fine for driving recklessly through the Charlotte Motor Speedway garage during a tirade after last week's race.

He did just that with a dramatic victory at Talladega Superspeedway that allowed him to advance to the third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Keselowski, who was roundly booed prior to the race, was in danger of being eliminated if he didn't win. He outran Ryan Newman on the second of two green-white-checkered restarts and got a push from Matt Kenseth to take the checkered flag. It was his series-high sixth win of the season.

With Keselowski's win, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and six-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson were eliminated from the Chase. They each led the race and Johnson led the most laps, but both got shuffled in the draft and could not get back to the front at the end.

Kyle Busch, who was involved in a wreck, and Kasey Kahne also were eliminated. Hendrick Motorsports saw three of its four drivers eliminated with Earnhardt, Johnson and Kahne all knocked out.

Kenseth finished second in the race, followed by Clint Bowyer, Landon Cassill and Newman.
