Tony Stewart Injury Should Send Strong Message to NASCAR Drivers

Here’s a message to Sprint Cup drivers: If you want to keep racing sprint cars in your spare time, adding to the risk you take every weekend in NASCAR, that is fine but consider the consequences.

Racecar drivers are competitive people. They need that competitive release. Considering they race cars for a living, they probably need the adrenalin rush, too. 

So race away. Have fun. Enjoy the ride.

But remember: You’re putting your primary job and your primary team at risk for your own enjoyment.

Drivers can say that racing other events on the side is their golf game or other activities are just as dangerous. They can say that accidents happen on the streets every day.
