RICHMOND, Va.—Clint Bowyer won Saturday's Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway night, while Jeff Gordon made a remarkable rally to earn a wild-card berth into the Chase.

Gordon and Kasey Kahne earned the two wild cards into the Chase for the Sprint Cup, which starts next week at Chicagoland Speedway. They complete the field of 12 drivers in the championship competition.

Gordon struggled early in the race, falling a lap down at one point, but came on strong at the end to finish second behind Bowyer. He beat Kyle Busch, who finished 16th, by three points in the race for the second wild-card spot.

Busch, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Marcos Ambrose, Joey Logano and Paul Menard were all racing for a wild card, but failed to make the Chase. All but Busch needed to win the race to make it. Busch could have made it by finishing at least 12 points ahead of Gordon.
