David Ragan Wins at Talladega, Pays Out 100-to-1 Odds in Las Vegas

Ragans' Talladega win is the best story of NASCAR season thus far
TALLADEGA, Ala.—David Ragan thanked God when he climbed from his car in victory lane Sunday.

It was appropriate since he had just received a miracle to score a victory of Biblical proportions.

"This is a true David vs. Goliath moment," Ragan said after scoring a huge upset in one of the wildest and wackiest races in NASCAR history.

With a push from teammate David Gilliland, Ragan charged to the front on the final lap to win for Front Row Motorsports, one of the sport's smallest teams. It was Ragan’s second career victory, but the first came with Roush Fenway Racing, one of NASCAR's biggest and most successful organizations.

It was the first win for Front Row, an underfunded, multicar Ford team that gets assistance from Roush.

Matt Kenseth held the lead on a green-white-checkered restart, but Carl Edwards charged past him to take the lead on the white-flag lap. Ragan and Gilliland seemingly came from out of nowhere to blast past Edwards for the win.
