Five co-favorites posted for Martinsville

Hamlin is always a contender at Martinsville.
LAS VEGAS -- Five drivers have been posted by the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook as 6-to-1 co-favorites to win Sunday's Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway, which is showing all kinds of respect to two of those drivers, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick. You see, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin have combined to win 21 times on the flat half-mile layout. Logano has never won at Martinsville, and Harvick has only one win there in 28 starts.

So what gives? Why so much respect for Logano and Harvick this time around?

For starters, Logano is going for his fourth straight win. He swept through the Contender Round of the Chase like nothing we’ve seen before, and last week’s win came when he had a target on his back as some veterans eyed retaliation at Talladega. Johnson is the last driver to win four straight races (2007), and he accomplished the feat during the Chase (Martinsville was one of the wins). While Logano has never won at Martinsville, he's had three straight top-five finishes there and also led five times for 108 laps in the May 29 race.
