Johnson Fastest in First Dover Practice Session

Johnson fastest in Dover's first practice session Friday.
Jimmie Johnson, with a lap speed of 158.604 mph, was the fastest during the first NSCS FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks practice session at Dover International Speedway.

Second fastest with a lap speed of 158.562 mph, was A.J. Allmendinger, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. (158.493) who third fastest, Kasey Kahne (158.186) fourth fastest and Joey Logano (158.033) was fifth fastest.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest in practice was Kyle Busch (157.673 – will have to start at rear of the field due to engine change) who was sixth fastest, Martin Truex Jr. (157.632) seventh, Kevin Harvick (157.570) eighth, Regan Smith (157.542) ninth and David Ragan (157.315) was tenth fastest.

The teams will return to the track for their final practice session at 2:45 PM (EST) later this afternoon. They will then not return until Saturday afternoon for their 12:10 PM (EST) scheduled qualifying session.

incidents: #18-Busch lost an engine in late in practice and team is putting in a new motor, so wherever Busch qualifies, he will fall to the rear of the field before the start of the race; so he will be qualifying for a good pit position. #71-Lally smacked the wall early in practice and did some slight damage to the right rear.
