Kurt Busch Hits Mega-Bucks in Charlotte All-Star Race For $1 Million

In Las Vegas there is a slot machine with a monster progressive jackpot called "Mega-Bucks" that hits every so often for millions. Saturday in Charlotte, Las Vegan Kurt Busch hit his own version of Mega-Bucks by capturing victory in the All-Star Challenge with a beefy check for over $1 million.

The win was Busch's first ever All-Star win, and first non-points win ever if including the Bud Shootout. It was car owner Roger Penske's second win in the All-Star race having done so with Ryan Newman in 2002. Martin Truex Jr, who won the Sprint Showdown to qualify for the race, finished second, followed by Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, and Matt Kenseth.

It looked as though it may be a rough night for Busch. Even though he was the winner of the first segment, Busch had slapped the wall running a high line of several occasions. The special paint scheme used just for this race was barely visible on the right side of his car. Despite the bumps and bruises, Busch was able to capitalize of a few great restarts late as well as get some luck from those in front of him.
